Creamery Tours

The Creamery welcomes hundreds of groups every year through its doors to give an inside look at how our products are made. Self-guided tours are available during any time that the Food Sciences Building is open (regular business hours), and can be enjoyed by following the self-guided tour signs posted in the building. Staff-led tours are free and can accommodate groups of up to 45 people. To schedule a time for your staff-led tour, fill out and email the tour request form to creamery@iastate.edu to schedule your tour today!

 

Workshops

We offer 1 consumer workshop/semester to teach consumers how to make dairy products at home! Watch our social media pages for the upcoming workshop. If your team is interested in a workshop for a private party, email us to check date availability!

Ice Cream Flavoring

  • 1.5 hour duration 
  • $250 flat rate; up to 12 participants 
  • Take home 1 quart of your creation

Butter Making

  • 1.5 hour duration
  • $300 flat rate; up to 12 participants
  • Take home 1/2lb of your creation

Queso Fresco Making

  • 3 hour duration 
  • $500 flat rate; up to 20 participants
  • Take home ~1/2lb of your creation

Special Events

Create a One-of-a-Kind Flavor to Serve at Your Event!

  • Email us to discuss the details, a 6 week lead time is required.
  • These are NOT permanent flavors.
  • Minimum of 6 tubs or 500 scoops.
  • Add up to 2 variegates and/or inclusions.

Open Tab Events (in store only)

  • Must be during regular store hours.
  • A 1 week lead time is required.
  • Can be paid via worktag or credit card.
  • Tab needs to be closed by store close.

Catering

We're happy to help sweeten your event!

  • Orders are submitted via our online store
  • 2-week lead time is required 
  • Rolling coolers and mobile ice cream carts are available. Review the rental agreement before submitting your order. 

Looking for Individual Scoops?

  • Order 20-200 scoops of up to 6 flavors (non-seasonal) of ice cream.
  • Orders over 200 scoops need to be requested via email and are subject to availability. Every additional 200 scoops requires 2 additional weeks of lead time.
  • Scoops are packed in clear plastic cups
  • Signage with flavor description and allergen information included 
  • Spoons included with order 

Passing out 8oz Pre-Packed Cups...

  • Any number of flavors (excluding seasonals) can be chosen
  • Cups are fully labeled with flavor, flavor description, nutrition, and allergen information 
  • Spoons included with order 

Tubs to Scoop!

  • Any number of flavors (excluding seasonals) can be chosen
  • Fresh waffle cones can be included for $1.50 per cone
  • Creamery staff are unable to scoop at events
